Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Kannada nouns are grouped into three genders: Masculine, Feminine, and Neuter, which dictate how you refer to people and objects.

  • Masculine: Used for human males (e.g., 'avanu' - he).
  • Feminine: Used for human females (e.g., 'avalu' - she).
  • Neuter: Used for animals, objects, and abstract concepts (e.g., 'adhu' - it).
Human Male (♂) + Human Female (♀) + Everything Else (📦) = Kannada Gender
