Unreal Present Conditionals (Gəlsəydi)
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use the -saydı/-səydi suffix to talk about imaginary situations in the present that contradict reality.
- Add -saydı/-səydi to the verb stem to express a hypothetical condition: 'Gəlsəydi' (If he came).
- The result clause usually follows, often using the past tense or conditional form: 'Gəlsəydi, onu görərdin' (If he came, you would see him).
- Use this for regrets or impossible dreams: 'Çox pulum olsaydı, dünyanı gəzərdim' (If I had a lot of money, I would travel the world).

This grammar expresses a hypothetical condition that is contrary to the current reality. It is used to describe what would happen if a specific condition were met, even though it is not.
Hypothetical Present
Describing a situation that is not true now but could be imagined.
“Yağış yağmasaydı, parka gedərdik.”

Regret
Expressing sadness about a current state.
