Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
To negate the past perfect in Bengali, add the negative particle 'না' (na) after the past participle form of the verb.
- Use the past participle of the main verb: 'আমি যাইনি' (I had not gone).
- The auxiliary verb 'ছিলাম' (was) often merges or is implied in the negative structure.
- Place 'না' immediately after the verb stem or the completed participle.
