be (یعنی am, is, are) رو مثل یه موتور قدرتمند در نظر بگیر. برای اینکه «دنده عقب» بره (منفی بشه)، ما خیلی ساده کلمه not رو بلافاصله بعدش اضافه میکنیم. مثل یه لنگر کوچیک میمونه که فعل رو از مثبت بودن نگه میداره.do یا does نیاز دارن (مثلاً I *do not* like)، فعل be یه فعل قوی و مستقله. به هیچ کمکی نیاز نداره! فقط not رو میگیره و به کارش ادامه میده.
