Passive Sentence Structure
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
The passive voice shifts focus from the doer to the action by adding -ыл/-іл or -ын/-ін to the verb stem.
- Add -ыл/-іл to verb stems ending in consonants (e.g., жаз -> жазыл).
- Add -н to verb stems ending in vowels (e.g., оқы -> оқыл).
- The subject of the sentence becomes the object being acted upon.
