Reported speech in Kazakh uses the verb 'деу' (to say) to quote someone else's words indirectly.
- Use the suffix '-ды/-ді' or '-ты/-ті' to link the quote to the verb 'деу'. Example: 'Ол келемін деді.'
- Change pronouns to match the perspective of the reporter. Example: 'Мен' becomes 'ол'.
- Indirect speech often uses the dative or accusative case depending on the verb structure.
