Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Kannada uses verb forms ending in '-a' or '-ada' to describe nouns, replacing the need for 'who' or 'which'.
- Use the past/present/future participle form of the verb to modify a noun: 'Oda-da huduga' (The boy who ran).
- The verb comes BEFORE the noun it describes: 'Nanna-nodu-va hudugi' (The girl who looks at me).
- Negative clauses use the '-ada' suffix with 'illa': 'Oda-da huduga' (The boy who did not run).
