Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use Type 2 conditionals to talk about imaginary, unlikely, or impossible situations in the present or future using 'ако' and 'бих'.
- Use 'ако' + Past Imperfect for the condition: 'Ако знаех...'
- Use 'бих' + L-participle for the result: '...бих ти казал.'
- In spoken Bulgarian, 'щях да' + Present is often used instead of 'бих'.

Yes! You can say 'Бих пътувал, ако имах пари' or 'Ако имах пари, бих пътувал'. The meaning is identical.
Yes, 'бих' is the standard literary form. 'Щях да' is very common in spoken Bulgarian and is perfectly acceptable in most situations.
Add 'не' before the verb: 'Ако не знаех...' or 'не бих направил...'.
This is called the 'modal past'. It shows that the situation is distant from reality, not that it happened in the past.
No, this is a major error. The 'if' clause sets the condition using the past tense only.
It is a verb form ending in -л, -ла, -ло, -ли (e.g., бил, чел, ял). It is used to form the conditional and the perfect tenses.
