Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Slovak nouns are either masculine, feminine, or neuter, and you can usually tell by looking at the last letter of the word.
- Masculine nouns usually end in a consonant (e.g., 'dom').
- Feminine nouns usually end in -a (e.g., 'žena').
- Neuter nouns usually end in -o or -e (e.g., 'auto').

Meanings
