Russian words are like Lego bricks: you add prefixes to change meaning and suffixes to change the part of speech.

  • Prefixes usually change the meaning of a verb (e.g., 'идти' to 'прийти').

Overview

Les mots russes sont essentiellement des sets LEGO. Tu commences avec une petite racine. Ensuite, tu clipses des préfixes et des suffixes.
Soudain, un mot en devient vingt. C'est le secret pour sonner comme un natif. Tu n'as pas besoin d'un vocabulaire massif.
Tu as juste besoin de savoir comment construire. Pense à une racine comme чит (lire). Ajoute про- et c'est 'avoir fini de lire'.
Ajoute -тель et c'est 'un lecteur'.

How This Grammar Works

Pense à la racine comme à l'ADN. Le préfixe est le 'modificateur'. Le suffixe est l'étiquette'.
Regardons la racine ход (aller/bouger). Cette racine est une légende. Ajoute вы- (dehors) et tu obtiens выход (sortie).

Common Mistakes

N'abuse pas des préfixes. Certains apprenants essaient d'ajouter trois préfixes à un mot. On n'est pas en allemand ; reste cool. Généralement, un ou deux est la limite. Fais aussi attention aux 'chutes de voyelles'.
