Ukrainians rarely use SMS. If you have someone's number, you are expected to use Telegram or Viber. Telegram is currently the most popular for all ages. Exchanging phone numbers is often preferred over LinkedIn in Ukraine. It's seen as a more direct and reliable way to get things done. Younger Ukrainians might find a direct phone call 'scary' or 'aggressive' without a prior text. Always text first! In cities like Lviv, the formal 'Ви' (and thus 'ваш') is used very strictly, even with people only slightly older than you.
