Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Thai uses specific verbs like 'pai' (go) and 'maa' (come) after main verbs to show the direction of an action.

  • Use 'pai' (ไป) when the movement is away from the speaker: 'deun pai' (walk away).
  • Use 'maa' (มา) when the movement is toward the speaker: 'deun maa' (walk here).
  • Place these markers immediately after the main verb: [Verb] + [Direction Marker].
