If you can add 'right now' to the end of your sentence and it makes sense, use the Present Continuous!

A common mistake is saying 'I working'. You always need 'am', 'is', or 'are' to glue the sentence together.

Rhyme

자주 묻는 질문 (8)

`I work` is your general job (habit). `I am working` means you are doing your job right now.

Yes! Use it for fixed plans, like `I am meeting my boss tomorrow`.

Verbs like `want`, `love`, and `know` are 'stative'. They describe states, not actions, so they usually stay in the Present Simple.

Drop the 'e' and add '-ing'. For example, `dance` becomes `dancing`.

If a short verb ends in Consonant-Vowel-Consonant (like `run`), double the last letter: `running`.

They are two names for the same thing! 'Continuous' is more common in the UK, while 'Progressive' is often used in the US.

Add `not` after the 'be' verb: `I am not`, `He is not`, `They are not`.

Yes! You can say `I am reading a good book` even if the book is at home and you are at work.
