Economic problems

Challenges related to money, finance, and resources.

🌍

문화적 배경

In Iran, discussing 'مشکلات اقتصادی' is a national pastime. It's common to hear people complaining about the price of eggs or cars in almost any social setting. It's a way to vent frustration about inflation. In Dari Persian, the phrase is also used, but often in the context of humanitarian aid and the lack of jobs. It carries a very heavy, serious tone. Tajik speakers (using Cyrillic script: мушкилоти иқтисодӣ) use this phrase similarly, often in relation to labor migration to Russia. For Iranians living abroad, this phrase is often used when discussing the 'remittances' or help they send back to their families.

💡

Use it to be polite

If you can't afford something, say 'Moshkelat-e Eqtesadi' instead of 'I'm poor'. It sounds more dignified.

⚠️

Don't forget the Ezafe

Without the 'e' sound at the end of Moshkelat, the phrase falls apart. It's Moshkelat-E Eqtesadi.
