साहसिक कदम उठाना

You treat उठाना (to lift/take) as the main verb. It changes based on who is doing the action and when. If you did it yesterday, you'd say उठाया. If you are doing it now, it's उठा रहे हैं. You can use it to describe yourself, a friend, or even a whole country's government. It usually follows the subject and the context of the action. For example, 'She took a bold step by moving to a new city.'

Use this when the stakes are high. It’s perfect for business meetings when discussing a new strategy. It’s great for heart-to-heart talks with friends about their relationships. You’ll also see it all over the news when a politician makes a controversial but brave decision. Use it when you want to sound supportive or impressed by someone's courage. It adds a touch of drama and respect to the conversation.

Don't use this for trivial things. Choosing between a latte and a cappuccino is not a साहसिक कदम. If you use it for small stuff, people will think you're being sarcastic (which can be funny, but be careful!). Also, avoid using it for reckless or stupid actions. If someone jumps off a roof for a TikTok challenge, that’s not 'bold'—that’s just बेवकूफी (stupidity).

In Indian culture, there is a deep respect for साहस (courage). From historical warriors to modern-day entrepreneurs, taking a 'bold step' is seen as a noble trait. Hindi literature is full of stories where the protagonist must take this specific 'step' to change their destiny. It’s a phrase that resonates with the Indian value of being a 'Karamveer' (a hero of deeds).

You might hear people say बड़ा कदम उठाना (taking a big step) which is a bit more common and less formal. Another one is हिम्मत दिखाना (showing courage). If someone is being extra dramatic, they might say जोखिम उठाना (taking a risk). But साहसिक कदम उठाना remains the most elegant way to describe a truly brave move.
