أرسل بريداً

You can use this phrase in many different ways. If you just finished sending something, say أرسلتُ بريداً (I sent mail). If you are about to do it, say سأرسل بريداً (I will send mail). You can be specific by adding إلكتروني (electronic) to mean email. However, in modern times, most people just say بريد and assume you mean email. It is like telling a friend you will 'mail' them a link. They know you aren't going to the post office for that!

For those quick texts, the word رسالة (risala), which means 'message,' is much more common and accurate.
