Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Perfective verbs describe a completed action with a clear beginning or end; think of them as a 'snapshot' of a finished event.
- Use Perfective for a single, completed action: 'Прочетох книгата' (I finished reading the book).
- Perfective verbs cannot describe ongoing habits; they focus on the result or the specific moment of completion.
- Most Perfective verbs are formed by adding a prefix to an Imperfective verb: 'пиша' (write) -> 'напиша' (finish writing).
