The Third Conjugation (-o)

Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Third conjugation verbs end in -o in the infinitive and keep that -o throughout the present tense conjugation.

  • Identify the infinitive ending in -oti, e.g., 'dėkoti' (to thank).
  • Drop the -ti to find the stem: 'dėko-'.
  • Add the personal endings: -u, -i, -a, -ome, -ate, -a.
