Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Polish subject pronouns replace nouns, but you can often drop them because the verb ending tells you who is speaking.

  • Use 'Ja' for I and 'Ty' for you (singular). Example: Ja czytam (I am reading).
  • Use 'On/Ona/Ono' for he/she/it. Example: Ona śpi (She is sleeping).
  • Use 'My/Wy/Oni/One' for we/you(pl)/they. Example: My jemy (We are eating).
