Conditional Sentences Type II (Unreal Present/Future)
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use Type II to describe imaginary or unlikely situations in the present or future by pairing 'ako' + past tense with the conditional 'bi'.
- Use 'ako' + past tense (imperfect) for the condition: 'Ako bih imao novca...'
- Use the conditional mood (bi/biste/bismo) for the result: '...kupio bih auto.'
- The order doesn't matter: 'Kupio bih auto, ako bih imao novca.'

Meanings
This conditional expresses hypothetical situations that are contrary to current reality or unlikely to happen in the future.
Hypothetical Present
Imagining a different reality right now.
“Kad bih znao odgovor, rekao bih ti.”

Discussing a future event that is improbable.
