Unreal Conditional Suffix (-saydı/-səydi)
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use -saydı/-səydi to talk about things that didn't happen in the past but you wish they had.
- Add -saydı/-səydi to the verb root based on vowel harmony.
- Use it for regrets: 'Gəlsəydi, onu görərdin' (If he had come, you would have seen him).
- Negative form uses -masaydı/-məsəydi: 'Gəlməsəydi, darıxardıq' (If he hadn't come, we would have been bored).

Meanings
This suffix creates a counterfactual conditional, describing a situation that did not occur in the past.
Regret
Expressing sadness about a past choice.
