To find the Rheme, ask a question. The part of your sentence that answers 'Who', 'What', or 'Where' is the Rheme and should usually go last.

In English, we use stress to say 'IVAN came'. In Bulgarian, we move 'Ivan' to the end to show he is the new information answering the question 'Who?'.

Wrong: Иван дойде днес. (as a response to 'Who came?')
صحيح: Днес дойде Иван.

Starting with an indefinite 'a big house' feels abrupt. It is more natural to start with the setting (in the distance) and then introduce the new object.

Wrong: Една голяма къща се виждаше в далечината.
صحيح: В далечината се виждаше една голяма къща.

Using a clitic pronoun 'я' makes 'Мария' the theme (known info). If the listener didn't know you saw Maria, don't use the clitic and don't put her first.

Wrong: Мария я видях в парка. (when Maria is new information)
صحيح: Видях Мария в парка.
