Type 1 Conditional: Present + Future
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use 'եթե' (ete) with the Present tense to describe a likely situation and the Future tense for its result.
- Start the condition with 'եթե' (if) followed by a present tense verb.
- Use the future tense (կ- or պիտի) in the result clause.
- The order can be swapped, but the 'if' stays with the present verb.

Easily Confused
Learners use Type 1 for impossible things like 'If I were a bird'.
In colloquial Armenian, 'որ' (vor) is often used instead of 'եթե'.

Bite your tongue! In Armenian, the 'will' (կ-) only belongs in the second part of the sentence.
