Using 'When' instead of 'If' in Real Conditions
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use `երբ` (erb) for things that definitely happen and `եթե` (ete) for things that might happen.
- Use `երբ` for habits: `Երբ տուն եմ գալիս, հաց եմ ուտում` (When I come home, I eat).
- Use `երբ` for facts: `Երբ արևը մայր է մտնում, մթնում է` (When the sun sets, it gets dark).
- Use `եթե` only for uncertainty: `Եթե անձրև գա, կմնանք տանը` (If it rains, we'll stay home).

Meanings
In Armenian, while `եթե` (if) introduces a condition that may or may not be met, `երբ` (when) is used for 'real conditions'—scenarios that are habitual, scientific truths, or scheduled events where the outcome is certain.
Habitual Actions
Describing things you do every time a specific situation arises.
