Review Summary

  • Verb Stem + -ған/-ген/-қан/-кен
  • Verb Stem + -атын/-етін/-йтын/-йтін

أخطاء شائعة

Do not use the simple past tense (-дым) to modify a noun. You must use the participle suffix (-ған).

Wrong: Мен оқыдым кітап қызықты.
صحيح: Мен оқыған кітап қызықты. (The book I read is interesting.)

Using a habitual participle (-атын) for a specific past event is incorrect. Use the past participle (-ған) for completed actions.

Wrong: Кеше келетін қонақ келді.
صحيح: Кеше келген қонақ келді. (The guest who came yesterday arrived.)

The subject of the participle clause should come before the participle, and the whole phrase must precede the noun.

Wrong: Жазылған хатты мен.
صحيح: Мен жазған хат. (The letter written by me / The letter I wrote.)
