Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

In Slovak, past tense verbs change their ending based on the gender of the subject: masculine, feminine, or neuter.

  • Masculine subjects use -l: On robil (He worked).
  • Feminine subjects use -la: Ona robila (She worked).
