Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
The Swedish imperative is usually just the verb stem, making it one of the easiest forms to learn.
- For most verbs, the imperative is the same as the stem: 'Läs!' (Read!)
- If the verb ends in a vowel in the infinitive, the imperative is often the same: 'Tro!' (Believe!)
- To make it negative, use 'inte' after the verb: 'Spring inte!' (Don't run!)
