Describing a child's distress.
Contexto cultural
In Kerala, it's common for mothers to sing 'Tharattu Pattu' (lullabies) to stop a child from crying. The most famous one is 'Omanathinkal Kidavo'. Among Malayalis living abroad, the phrase is often used in 'Manglish' (Malayalam + English) contexts, like 'Kutti is crying'. If a child cries too much, some traditional families might think it's 'Vayaru Vethana' (stomach ache) and use 'Vayambu' (a medicinal herb). In a Kerala bus or train, if a child cries, other passengers will often try to soothe the child or offer a seat to the parent.

5 preguntasNo, 'Kutti' is gender-neutral. It can be used for both boys and girls.
Usually no. 'Kutti' is for younger children. For a teenager, you would use 'Aan-kutti' (boy) or 'Pen-kutti' (girl), or just their name.
You say 'കുട്ടി പാലിന് വേണ്ടി കരയുന്നു' (Kutti paalinuvendi karayunnu).
'Karayunnu' is simple present (cries/is crying). 'Karayukayaanu' is more emphatic about the action happening right now.
No, it's a neutral observation. However, your tone should be helpful, not complaining.
