Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use 'ဆိုရင်တော့' (so yin taw) to shift the focus of a conversation or highlight a specific topic among many.
- Place it directly after the noun or phrase you want to highlight: 'Noun + ဆိုရင်တော့'.
- Use it to contrast one thing with another previously mentioned item.
- It literally means 'if we say about...', creating a natural bridge to a new point.

Meanings
A discourse marker used to introduce a new topic or to pick out one specific item from a group to provide detailed information or contrast.
Contrastive Focus
Used to highlight a difference between the current topic and a previous one.
