Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use the suffix '-saydı' combined with 'kaş' to talk about past regrets and things you wish had happened differently.
- Add -sa/-sə to the verb root, then add the past copula -ydı/-ydi (e.g., gəlsəydi).

Smart Tips
Drop the '-s' and use the optative '-aydı'. Instead of 'gəlsəydim', say 'gələydim'.
Remember it follows the same rules as the past tense '-dı'. If the verb ends in a, ı, o, u -> -saydı. If e, ə, i, ö, ü -> -səydi.
Use 'Gərək' at the start. It's the most natural way to give 'after-the-fact' advice.
