Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

When you have both a direct and indirect object, the indirect (dative) always comes before the direct (accusative) pronoun.

  • Dative comes first: 'Ми го даде' (He gave it to me).
  • Both are short forms: Use 'ми' (to me) and 'го' (it).
  • Negative placement: 'Не ми го даде' (He didn't give it to me).

This rule governs the sequence of two object pronouns in a single sentence, specifically when an action is performed on an object for the benefit of a person.
