مرور کلی

### Overview
در زبان انگلیسی، دو عبارت must و have to برای بیان «ضرورت» یا «الزام» (necessity/obligation) به کار می‌روند.
### How This Grammar Works
تفاوت بنیادی must و have to در «دیدگاهِ گوینده» نسبت به ضرورت است. must یک فعل کمکی مُدال (modal verb) است. در فارسی، معادل آن همان «باید» است که هیچ تغییری در شخص نمی‌کند. اما have to در واقع یک فعل اصلی است که در زمان حال ساده، بسته به فاعل (سوم شخص مفرد)، تغییر شکل می‌دهد (has to).
وقتی شما از must استفاده می‌کنید، در حال بیان یک باور شخصی یا تعهد درونی هستید. مثلاً وقتی می‌گویید I must finish this project، یعنی برای خودتان هدف‌گذاری کرده‌اید و احساس می‌کنید این کار باید انجام شود. اما have to نشان‌دهنده یک الزام بیرونی است.
اگر مدیر شما در محل کار بگوید You have to finish this project، این یک دستور است که از بیرون به شما تحمیل شده است.
در فارسی ما این تفاوت را با لحن یا کلمات جانبی نشان می‌دهیم، اما در انگلیسی، انتخابِ درست بین این دو، جایگاه اجتماعی و نوع رابطه شما را با شنونده مشخص می‌کند. اگر به یک دوست بگویید You must visit Shiraz، یعنی از نظر شخصیِ شما، این تجربه فوق‌العاده است. اما اگر بگویید You have to show your ID، این یک قانون است که از اختیار شما خارج است.
این تفاوتِ ظریف در ارتباطات روزمره، محیط‌های دانشگاهی و کاری بسیار مهم است.
### Formation Pattern
هر دو عبارت با شکل پایه فعل (بدون to) می‌آیند. در جدول زیر نحوه ساختار آن‌ها را مشاهده می‌کنید:
| حالت | فرمول | مثال |
|---|---|---|
| مثبت (Must) | Subject + must + base verb | I must study. |
| مثبت (Have to) | Subject + have/has to + base verb | She has to study. |
| منفی (Mustn't) | Subject + must not + base verb | You mustn't talk. (ممنوع است) |
| منفی (Don't have to) | Subject + don't/doesn't have to + base verb | You don't have to study. (لازم نیست) |
نکته کلیدی: must برای همه فاعل‌ها ثابت است، اما have to برای he/she/it به has to تبدیل می‌شود.
### When To Use It
از must زمانی استفاده کنید که:
  1. 1تعهد شخصی دارید: I must call my mom. (دلم می‌خواهد و احساس وظیفه می‌کنم).
  2. 2توصیه بسیار قوی می‌کنید: You must try this tea. (پیشنهاد گرم و دوستانه).
  3. 3استنتاج منطقی (در سطوح بالاتر): He must be tired. (حتماً خسته است).
از have to زمانی استفاده کنید که:
  1. 1قوانین و مقررات مطرح است: You have to wear a uniform. (قانون مدرسه یا محل کار).
  2. 2شرایط محیطی شما را مجبور می‌کند: My car is broken, so I have to walk. (شرایط بیرونی).
  3. 3در سوالات: همیشه از Do/Does ... have to استفاده کنید. Must در سوالات بسیار رسمی و غیرمعمول است.
### Common Mistakes
Do you have to go?.
### Contrast With Similar Patterns
| ویژگی | Must | Have to |
|---|---|---|
| منبع الزام | درونی (شخصی) | بیرونی (قانون/شرایط) |
| تغییر برای فاعل | ندارد | دارد (has to) |
| گذشته | ندارد (استفاده از had to) | دارد (had to) |
| منفی | ممنوعیت (Prohibition) | عدم نیاز (Lack of necessity) |
### Quick FAQ
  1. 1آیا می‌توانم در مکالمه دوستانه به جای have to از must استفاده کنم؟ بله، اما ممکن است خیلی جدی یا دستوری به نظر برسید. برای کارهای روزمره have to بسیار طبیعی‌تر است.
  2. 2اگر کسی به من گفت You don't have to bring a gift چه کار کنم؟ یعنی نیازی نیست هدیه بیاورید، اما اگر بیاورید هم مشکلی نیست. این یک پیشنهادِ اختیاری است.
  3. 3آیا must در انگلیسیِ آمریکایی و بریتانیایی متفاوت است؟ تفاوت بزرگی ندارند، اما در انگلیسی آمریکایی تمایل بیشتری به استفاده از have to برای همه موقعیت‌ها وجود دارد.

سوالات متداول (8)

No, not for obligation. You must use `had to`. If you use `must have`, it means you are making a guess about the past (e.g., 'He must have been tired').

Actually, `must` can sound more bossy or aggressive in some contexts. `Have to` is usually more neutral because it sounds like the rule comes from somewhere else, not just you.

It is an informal version of `have to`. 'I've got to go' is very common in spoken English and is often shortened to 'I gotta'.

It exists, but it is very rare in speech. Americans usually say 'You can't' or 'You're not allowed to' instead of `mustn't`.

`Must` is a modal verb, and modal verbs never change their form. `Have to` is a semi-modal and follows regular verb rules for the third person.

Yes, but it sounds very formal. 'Must you leave so soon?' is correct but sounds like a movie from the 1940s. 'Do you have to leave?' is more modern.

They are very similar. `Need to` focuses more on the necessity for the person, while `have to` focuses more on the requirement or rule.

They are often used for the same thing (prohibition). `Mustn't` is more formal and authoritative; `can't` is more common in daily speech.
