Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

In Kazakh, adjectives never change their form to match the noun; they simply sit right before it.

  • Adjectives are invariant: they do not change for gender, number, or case. Example: 'жақсы адам' (good person).
  • Adjectives always precede the noun they modify. Example: 'үлкен үй' (big house).
  • When used as a predicate, the adjective follows the subject. Example: 'Үй үлкен' (The house is big).
Adjective + Noun
