Reflexive Pronouns
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Reflexive pronouns use 'өз' to show that the action is directed back at the subject.
- Use 'өз' + possessive suffix to mean 'myself', 'yourself', etc. (e.g., өзім - myself).
- The pronoun 'өз' must agree with the person of the subject.
- It is used for emphasis or when the subject and object are the same person.

Meanings
Reflexive pronouns are used to indicate that the subject of the sentence is also the object of the action.
Reflexive action
Action directed at the subject.
“Ол өзін сынады (He criticized himself).”
“Біз өзімізді дайындадық (We prepared ourselves).”
