The Copula (To be)
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Kazakh doesn't have a standalone 'to be' verb; instead, we attach personal suffixes directly to nouns or adjectives.
- Use -мын/-мін for 'I' (e.g., Мен студентпін - I am a student).
- Use -сың/-сің for 'You' (e.g., Сен студентсің - You are a student).
- Third person singular has no suffix (e.g., Ол студент - He/she is a student).
