Poetic Word Inversion
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Poetic inversion shifts the object or adverb to the front of the sentence to emphasize emotion or imagery.
- Move the object to the front for dramatic focus: 'Rice, I eat' instead of 'I eat rice'.
- Place temporal adverbs at the start to set a mood: 'At night, the stars shine'.
- Ensure the subject remains clear to avoid ambiguity despite the shifted word order.
