The 'N' Chillu (ൺ)
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
The 'N' Chillu (ൺ) is a special character used to write a pure 'n' sound without an attached vowel.
- Use ൺ at the end of words like 'avan' (he) to show the 'n' is final: അവൻ.
- Never add a vowel sign (like ാ or ി) to ൺ, as it is already a complete, vowel-less sound.
- It replaces the older, more complex conjunct forms used in traditional Malayalam script.
