Pour comprendre comment ces formes fonctionnent, il faut d'abord se rappeler ce qu'est can. C'est un auxiliaire modal. Contrairement aux verbes classiques comme to eat ou to sleep, les modaux ont leurs propres règles.
Ils ne prennent jamais de s à la troisième personne et sont toujours suivis d'un verbe à l'infinitif sans to.
