Expressing Possession: My, Your, His (مالِ من، -م، -ت، -ش)

Overview

Three ways to show possession: (1) Ezafe + pronoun: ketab-e man (my book). (2) Possessive suffix (colloquial): ketabam (my book), ketabat (your book), ketabash (his/her book), ketabemun (our book). (3) mal-e (belonging to): in mal-e man ast (this is mine).
The suffix form is very common in spoken Persian and feels more natural.
