Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

To give a friendly command to someone you know well, take the verb root and add '-o'.

  • Find the root of the verb (e.g., 'chal' from 'chalna').
  • Add '-o' to the root to make it 'chalo'.
  • Use this only for friends, family, or peers (tum).

ou baisse la musique. Utiliser le aap formel (vous) semblerait bizarrement rigide — comme si tu parlais à un policier — tandis que le tu intime pourrait sembler un peu agressif. C'est là qu'intervient tum + la terminaison o.
C'est le juste milieu parfait dans la dynamique sociale hindi. C'est amical, décontracté et parfait pour 90% de tes interactions quotidiennes avec tes potes et tes frères et sœurs.

How This Grammar Works

L'impératif, c'est juste un mot savant pour ordres. En hindi, le verbe change selon la personne à qui tu parles. Comme tum (toi) est le pronom familier, sa terminaison verbale est toujours o (ओ).
Vois le son o comme un cercle d'amis. Quand tu l'utilises, tu dis en gros :
Hé, on est au même niveau, fais ça pour moi.
C'est direct mais pas impoli.

Trouve le Verbe : Commence par la forme du dictionnaire, qui finit toujours par na (ex. dekhna = regarder).

Common Mistakes

  • Le piège du "S'il te plaît" : N'ajoute pas please partout. Le bon ton et la terminaison o suffisent souvent. Kripya sonne robotique.
  • Erreurs Irrégulières : Dena (donner) et lena (prendre) deviennent do et lo.
