Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use this to ask if something had already happened before another past event occurred.
- Add -mış/-miş/-muş/-müş to the verb stem for the perfective aspect: 'oxumuş'.
- Add the past suffix -dı/-di/-du/-dü and personal endings: 'oxumuşdu'.
- Place the question particle -mı/-mi/-mu/-mü at the very end: 'oxumuşdumu?'

Meanings
The Past Perfect Interrogative is used to ask about an action that was completed prior to a specific point or another action in the past.

Smart Tips
Always check the last vowel of the verb. If it's 'e' or 'i', your suffixes will all have 'i' (miş-di-n-mi).
Use 'artıq' (already) to emphasize that the action was finished before you arrived.
Remember that the person suffix is 'trapped' between the past suffix '-dı' and the question particle '-mı'.
Always use the full '-lar-mı' for 'they', even if people shorten it in speech.
