Formation of Future Tense with 'Ще'

Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

To talk about the future in Bulgarian, simply place the particle 'ще' before the present tense form of the verb.

  • Use 'ще' + present tense: 'Аз ще ям' (I will eat).
  • For negatives, use 'няма да' + present tense: 'Аз няма да ям' (I will not eat).
  • Questions use 'ще' + subject + verb: 'Ще ядеш ли?' (Will you eat?).
