Accusative Case
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
The Accusative case marks the direct object of a verb, showing who or what is receiving the action.
- Use -ny/-ni after vowels: 'Alma' (apple) -> 'Almany' (the apple).
- Use -dy/-di after voiced consonants: 'Kitap' (book) -> 'Kitapty' (the book).
- Use -ty/-ti after voiceless consonants: 'Mektep' (school) -> 'Mektepti' (the school).
Meanings
The Accusative case (Tabys Septik) indicates the direct object of a transitive verb. It specifies that the action is directed toward a definite, particular object.
Definite Direct Object
Used when the object is specific or previously mentioned.
“Мен алманы жедім (I ate the apple).”
“Ол есікті ашты (He opened the door).”
