Demonstratives with Definite Article
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
In Bulgarian, when you use a demonstrative like 'this' or 'that', the noun must also take the definite article suffix.
- Use 'този' (this) for masculine nouns: Този човекът (This man).
- Use 'тази' (this) for feminine nouns: Тази жената (This woman).
- Use 'това' (this) for neuter nouns: Това детето (This child).

This rule governs the mandatory combination of a demonstrative pronoun (this/that) with the definite article suffix on the noun it modifies.
