Use the Imperfect to describe ongoing actions in the past or habits you used to have.
- Add 'ei' to the present participle for 'I was doing' (e.g., գրում էի - I was writing).

Meanings
The Imperfect tense describes actions that were in progress at a specific time in the past or habitual actions that occurred over a period of time.
Ongoing Action
An action happening at a specific moment in the past.
“Անձրև էր գալիս։ (It was raining.)”
