Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
In Amharic, 'I' is 'እኔ' (ene) and 'We' is 'እኛ' (inya); these are the building blocks for all your sentences.
- Use 'እኔ' (ene) for 'I' when you are the subject of the sentence.
- Use 'እኛ' (inya) for 'We' when referring to a group including yourself.
- Amharic verbs often include the pronoun inside them, so you can sometimes drop the pronoun entirely.
