In Greece, many small shops close on Sunday. If you want to 'κάνεις μια αγορά' on a Sunday, you usually have to go to a large mall or a tourist area. The rise of 'Skroutz' (the Greek Amazon) has made the phrase 'κάνω μια αγορά' extremely common in digital contexts over the last decade. In a 'laiki agora', you don't usually say 'κάνω μια αγορά'. Bargaining (παζάρι) is rare in modern Greek shops but still exists in antique markets (Monastiraki). Even there, 'κάνω μια αγορά' is the final step after the price is agreed.
