Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use the subjunctive mood (often the 'a' or 'e' stem) after impersonal expressions like 'It is necessary that'.
- Use 'պետք է' (petq e) + subjunctive verb for necessity: Պետք է գնամ (I must go).
- Use 'կարևոր է' (karevvor e) + subjunctive for importance: Կարևոր է, որ հասնես (It is important that you arrive).
- The verb in the subordinate clause must be in the subjunctive form, not the indicative.
