Using 'На' for Possession (На кого е?)

Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

In Bulgarian, use the word 'на' before a person or object to show who owns something.

  • Use 'на' + person to indicate possession: 'Книгата е на Иван' (The book is Ivan's).
  • The word 'на' does not change regardless of gender or number of the owner.
  • In questions, place 'На кого' at the start: 'На кого е тази чанта?' (Whose bag is this?).
