Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Rhetorical questions in Armenian aren't meant to be answered; they are used to emphasize a point or challenge the listener's perspective.
- Use negative interrogatives to imply a strong positive: 'Չէ՞ որ սա հրաշալի է' (Isn't this wonderful?)
- Use 'մի՞թե' to express disbelief or skepticism: 'Մի՞թե դու չգիտեիր' (Could it be that you didn't know?)
- Use rhetorical questions to guide an audience's conclusion: 'Ո՞վ կհամարձակվի հակառակվել' (Who would dare to oppose?)

Meanings
A rhetorical question is a figure of speech in the form of a question that is asked to make a point rather than to elicit an answer.
Emphasis/Agreement
Used to force the listener to agree with an obvious truth.
“Չէ՞ որ մենք ընկերներ ենք։”
“Ո՞վ չգիտի այս մասին։”
Disbelief/Skepticism
Used to express shock or doubt about a situation.
“Մի՞թե դա հնարավոր է։”
“Ինչպե՞ս կարող էի այսքան սխալվել։”
